Fondness

On Headphone Soda (2025)

[Intro: Tyfty, Ben Glish]
Then agiain I-
(Uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh)
I have for you, I have for you
(Then agiain I-)
I have for you
Cause I dont see it fading out soon

[Verse 1: Tyfty]
Wonder if you know
How much of a joy you are to be around
(Do I tell you that enough?)
You could make a day feel like just an hour
(Uh huh, uh huh, uh huh)
Often I've been told I could be a little much to be around
(Doesn’t seem to bother us)
Still I play it safe
And try to tone it down, down, down, down, down

[Chorus: Tyfty, Ben Glish]
Hope it's
Not too obvious
All this
Fondness
I have for you
I have for you
I have for you (Then again I hope it is)
Cause I don’t see it fading out soon

[Verse 2: Hatsune Miku] 1
Really need to tighten up (mhm)
My friends catch me smiling at my phone too much
Really need to tighten up (mhm)
Defenses get to slipping every time that we touch
Really need to tighten up (mhm)
It might be too soon to uncover this love
Really need to tighten up! (mhm)
Cause what if I end up doing too much?

[Chorus: Tyfty, Ben Glish, Hatsune Miku]
Hope it's (yeah-yeah)
Not too obvious (obvious)
All this (all this)
Fondness
I have for you
I have for you
I have for you (Then again I hope it is)
Cause I don’t see it fading out soon
(Uh-huh, uh-huh) (ayyyy!) 2

[Bridge: Tyfty, Hatsune Miku]
Day by day (You're in my memory)
Week after week (How you consider me)
I can’t keep on hiding this effect you have on me
So i hope

[Chorus: Tyfty, Ben Glish, Hatsune Miku]
Hope it's (hope it's)
Not too obvious (obvious)
All this (all this)
Fondness
I have for you
I have for you
I have for you (Then again I hope it is)
Cause I don’t see it fading out soon

[Outro: Tyfty, Ben Glish]
(La la la la)
So I hope
(Obvious)
(Fondness)
I have for you
I have for you
I have for you (Then again I hope it is)
Cause I don’t see it fading out soon

Commentary & Reccommendations

Headphone Soda came up as a reccommendation from a forum goer, and it was the rare one that I actually listened to (truly, youtube videos that are entire album/EP/playlist uploads are my weakness. Probably in part due to a now-deleted 2-hour upload of the entire soundtrack of Etrian Odyssey Untold which I used to listen to for studying a lot in high school.) The album hit me like a truck. I found every track to be a quick favorite and I struggled not to just put the whole thing in reccommendations. There's a lot of references to programming and computers in the album overall, but I picked this one, for one because there's a lack of them, and for two, I think the track is pretty relatable. I often feel like "I could be a little much to be around" and try to tone myself down in social situations (usually to some kind of detriment, gestures broadly to the concept of masking and the nature of being annoying towards other people). I also like how the name of the track is sweet: "Fondness" feels like an underused way to describe the affection people have towards each other.
The second verse is a little more vague, I interpret it as irl friends seeing one distract themselves with their phone in an effort to not have to be entirely present, hence the narrator having their "defenses slipping" and needing to "tighten up", but that doesn't really feel like a complete explanation so, meh. If you come up with something else please tell me lol.

I really enjoy the T H I C K beats this album has on pretty much all tracks, and all the tracks have this really nice flow to them. I don't listen to this style of music often (this is actually one of the sample-light tracks on the album too, as far as I could tell) but this album really hits. Een's other music is good too, but I feel she really hit her stride here.

On Headphone Soda (2025)
A track about holding an old, ended friendship closely and still fondly remembering the person and hoping they're doing well.

On Headphone Soda(2025)
Definetely the stand-out track on the album for me. A song about feeling like a digital nomad as each social media website slowly gets worse and people keep leaving them. Probably the only song that references both Eternal September4 and Kidz Bop. ChromeVox is also there.

On Headpone Soda (2025)One of the more chill tracks. Also sappy. No wonder I like it. I'll leave other songs on the album for you to discover if you liked any of the tracks here.
